GRT Effects

  • Karl-Heinz Spatschek

摘要

In this chapter, we discuss some of the fundamentally new results of GRT, which are even known in general public in a keyword-like manner. We are referring to effects such as the absidal precession of Mercury, light deflection in the gravitational field, and gravitational waves. When we deal with “what happens around stars,” the Schwarzschild metric plays a special role. We discuss questions about how planets and light behave in the outer area of the star in a general-relativistic description.
