Legal Framework and Economics

In each country the legal framework for the installation and operation of a sludge drying plant differs. Energy costs as well as costs for civil works and land vary. This chapter briefly describes the factors influencing the erection of a belt dryer and the production costs for dried sludge. Also, the costs for sludge disposal or for usage as a fertilizer determines economics of a drying project.
