Kouzes & Pozner (1987) define a “team” as “a group of equally important people collaborating, developing cooperative goals, and building trusting relationships to achieve shared goals”. Team success depends not only on the competencis and experience of its individual members but also on the qualities of the team as a whole. Successful teams must have a clear set of values, a uniform and consistent external image and be able to ensure that appropriate structures are in place to uphold the vision of the services they desire (Nancarrow et al., 2013).
