The aim of this chapter is to explore how domain knowledge can be systematically integrated into DRL-based JSS solutions to make them more effective, both in terms of convergence speed and final solution quality. As will be shown later, one natural way for integrating domain knowledge is through the observation space. Thereby, this chapter contributes towards answering RQ1, how domain knowledge can be advantageously integrated into the observation space.
