Overall, this study provided valuable insights into the perception of politeness and indirectness by American English and German speakers. In this last chapter, I would like to reflect on the research questions raised in the beginning (cf. Chap. 1 for the complete RQs and Hys), discuss some methodological implications that are suggested by the outcome of this study and propose some ideas for future research in an outlook.
