This chapter addresses the origins of FMEA. The international standards (SAE/AIAG, VDA, AIAG/VDA) that govern FMEA are then described, emphasizing a key difference between the American and German standards: the systemic model (structure/functions/failures). The VDA standard is explained in detail at the end. The five steps of the standard, the activities involved in each step, and the systemic model with its horizontal layers of analysis, vertical development levels, systemic hierarchies, and logical relationships are then examined as further points of focus.

摘要

This chapter addresses the origins of FMEA. The international standards (SAE/AIAG, VDA, AIAG/VDA) that govern FMEA are then described, emphasizing a key difference between the American and German standards: the systemic model (structure/functions/failures). The VDA standard is explained in detail at the end. The five steps of the standard, the activities involved in each step, and the systemic model with its horizontal layers of analysis, vertical development levels, systemic hierarchies, and logical relationships are then examined as further points of focus.
