This research aimed to provide the first scientific evidence on the operationalization of tech diplomacy by addressing our research questions: Why do states introduce tech diplomacy? And how do states structure and implement it? Through a detailed review of existing practices, we identified two primary approaches: a centralized model with key figures based in the national capital, and a decentralized model with appointments in global tech hubs. Denmark and Switzerland served as our case studies, exemplifying these approaches.
