Mediatization Theory: Die Mediatisierung kommunikativen Handelns. Der Wandel von Alltag und sozialen Beziehungen, Kultur und Gesellschaft durch die Medien - by Friedrich Krotz (2001)
摘要
The aim of this chapter is a presentation of the mediatization approach based on the conceptual considerations of Friedrich Krotz. As a key work, “Die Mediatisierung kommunikativen Handelns” ties in with theories of medium range and advocates for a reorganization of the existing communication science knowledge. Using the example of television in public places, it is shown how technical communication media shape the environment of their use and thus particularly the everyday life of individuals. Krotz aims for a holistic understanding of the consequences of media change on the social and communicative actions of people. The goal: The development of building blocks of a communication science theory, in which the societal role of the media and their implications on the socialized individual are at the center.
