Example: Alternative Motion Model of the Lunar Module

Referring to the introductory example from Chap. 1 , this chapter aims to transfer the model into the state-space representation using an alternative (reduced) state vector. In contrast to all previous examples, one of the measurable quantities is supplied to the Kalman filter via the input variable \(\underline{u}(t)\) instead of via the output variable \(\underline{y}(t)\) .
