Introduction
摘要
This chapter provides an introduction to the dissertation. First, it outlines the research gap in welfare state research with regard to authoritarian social policy. It then discusses the central argument of the dissertation, which states that pension policy in autocracies serves regime survival and varies depending on the patterns of legitimation and ideological orientations of authoritarian regimes. This is followed by a brief discussion of the research design and a summary of the main empirical findings. The last part of the chapter provides an overview of the structure of the dissertation.
