In this study, I argue that the AK Party’s family policies and discourses are shaped by the intersecting influences of neoliberalism, neoconservatism, and populism, as widely noted in the existing literature. To support this claim, I examine how these ideological frameworks manifest in the party’s approach to the family. Accordingly, this chapter first outlines the key features of these concepts, and then analyzes the ways in which the AK Party can be characterized as neoliberal, neoconservative, and populist.

摘要

In this study, I argue that the AK Party’s family policies and discourses are shaped by the intersecting influences of neoliberalism, neoconservatism, and populism, as widely noted in the existing literature. To support this claim, I examine how these ideological frameworks manifest in the party’s approach to the family. Accordingly, this chapter first outlines the key features of these concepts, and then analyzes the ways in which the AK Party can be characterized as neoliberal, neoconservative, and populist.
