Here I discuss the r- and K-selection concept in ecology. r-strategists are organisms that grow quickly and invest little in defense; K-strategists are organisms that first acquire resources and reproduce late. Rapid growth is not necessary for them. I analyze the concept in the context of disturbances and relate it to what we call morality. In doing so, I leave the typical domain of ecology. Ultimately, I attempt to show that even the desire for more or fewer disturbances, or for more or less stability/chaos/anarchy/peace, is always a form of self-interested lobbying.
