After clarifying the demands of international environmental law and human rights law concerning resource depletion and waste management, it is now the task to examine the opposite side of a potential obligation which is the state’s sovereignty. An obligation of transforming the economy into a circular one represents a huge interference with a state’s opportunity to decide upon its economic system. Decisions about the national economy are generally seen as directly intertwined with the state’s sovereignty.

摘要
