The concept of agency employment is often classified as “atypical employment” in application practice. In a broader sense, atypical employment can be defined as those jobs that are not typical, which most authors consider to be only an employment relationship of indefinite duration with a fixed weekly working time of 40 hours per week. This broadly defined term could then include all fixed-term employment relationships, employment relationships with shorter working hours and employment relationships where the employee performs work on the basis of a work performance agreement or a work activity agreement.
