This thesis analyzes the potential impact of additive manufacturing-related engineering design freedom on vehicle conception. The introduction to this work is structured into four subsections. First, the general motivation and resulting hypotheses are formulated (Sect. 1.1). Next, previous work on related topics is out lined (Sect. 1.2). The main objective and related research questions are explained afterward in Sect. 1.3. The introduction chapter concludes with this thesis’s approach and structural overview summarized in Sect. 1.4.
