This article examines how established universal prevention measures can be applied within the framework of indicated prevention work. A comparison of the two prevention forms shows that their methodological differentiation is justified; however, the key difference for social pedagogical practice lies in their varying orientations toward the needs of their target groups. Group pedagogical measures in universal prevention can therefore complement regular individual case consultations of indicated prevention, provided they are specifically tailored to the previously identified needs of their audience. For indicated prevention to be successful within social pedagogical structures—such as youth welfare offices, open youth work, and schools—it is essential that these organizations have professionally trained personnel capable of assessing relevant needs and developing concrete measures accordingly. Organizations like Ufuq e.V. and the State Democracy Centers play a crucial role in addressing the resulting demand for ongoing training opportunities for professionals. Additionally, since the cases that arise often involve cross-structural needs, it is vital to facilitate regular exchanges among the various stakeholders at the municipal level through specialized committees.
