In the field of Sport for Development (SfD), new areas of intervention and a “re-theorization” of development are emerging. Drawing on the concept of radical incremental transformation, an SfD program in the Global North is discussed from a theoretical perspective to highlight the prerequisites for sustainable development in and through SfD projects. The process leads from the niche through strategic networks, the use of windows of opportunity, and cross-sectoral cooperation based on shared mindsets. As a result, a new local infrastructure is established with the overarching goal of sport for all.

摘要

In the field of Sport for Development (SfD), new areas of intervention and a “re-theorization” of development are emerging. Drawing on the concept of radical incremental transformation, an SfD program in the Global North is discussed from a theoretical perspective to highlight the prerequisites for sustainable development in and through SfD projects. The process leads from the niche through strategic networks, the use of windows of opportunity, and cross-sectoral cooperation based on shared mindsets. As a result, a new local infrastructure is established with the overarching goal of sport for all.
