It is commonly stated that photons have no mass. On the other hand, photons can be deflected by masses, which suggests that photons interact with gravity and raises the question of the extent to which electromagnetic phenomena and the phenomenon of gravitation are related. These questions are addressed by introducing a novel electromagnetic model that encompasses the properties characteristic of gravitation. The model ultimately also allows for the determination of the photon mass.

摘要

It is commonly stated that photons have no mass. On the other hand, photons can be deflected by masses, which suggests that photons interact with gravity and raises the question of the extent to which electromagnetic phenomena and the phenomenon of gravitation are related. These questions are addressed by introducing a novel electromagnetic model that encompasses the properties characteristic of gravitation. The model ultimately also allows for the determination of the photon mass.
