The global project for a life of human dignity, an intact environment, and a respectful social society requires a holistic perspective. Some see this as both an opportunity and a challenge for all academic disciplines to analyze sustainability in context, to continuously question it, and to document it appropriately. In order to generate broad, global interest in the UN Sustainable Development Goals, it is necessary to anchor “personal sustainability” in the pillar model as an additional fourth pillar (alongside the ecological, economic, and social dimensions). Only in this way will not only countries and organizations feel addressed, but also individuals. This publication deals with the new dimension of “personal sustainability” and the opportunities associated with it.

摘要
