Robustness of Findings on Determinants
摘要
Before turning to the discussion of the results, this chapter briefly presents the robustness checks applied to improve confidence in the analysis. The quality standards applied during the establishment of the measurement instrument and data collection have already been discussed in detail in Part III. Therefore, I will limit the discussion of these aspects to emphasize again that the measurement instrument to assess citizens’ perceptions of electoral integrity is new and was collected on a larger scale for the first time in the CPEIG dataset. Also, the analysis in this thesis is the first application of the measurement instrument in a larger multivariate setting. This naturally involves several uncertainties, some of which will only be resolved through further data collection efforts that enable an assessment of the measurement instrument’s reliability across different times and contexts.
