After having developed the questions and response scales, specified the item battery’s properties and application, and outlined the measures implemented during the development process to ensure its quality, this chapter aims to empirically assess the instrument’s quality. While the standard pre-tests provided useful first simulations for data collection, their sample sizes are not sufficient to enable a valid and reliable empirical assessment of the instrument’s quality. For this purpose, a larger and more diversely sampled dataset is required.
