This chapter introduces the fundamentals of prompt engineering. To this end, the Valisory Prompt Quality Model (PQM) is first presented as a means of assessing the quality of prompts. Subsequently, the basic techniques for effective prompting are introduced step by step, and their implementation is illustrated using practical examples.
