To examine how journalism deals with cultural diversity, quantitative and qualitative methods are combined. Within the framework of a quantitative and qualitative content analysis, the study investigates how local reporting (WDR-Lokalzeiten, Neue Westfälische) covers people with an African migration background. The focus group analysis explores the extent to which journalists in training and continuing education engage with cultural diversity, what needs they have in this regard, and how these can be addressed in diversity training.
