Research Design: Building Theory from Cases
摘要
“Research design is about making choices and articulating a rationale for the choices one has made”. Following this understanding, this chapter lays out the research design of this study as a carefully formulated plan for the research exercise including the systematic analytical approach. This research design is based on what Langley and Abdallah coined as “The ‘Eisenhardt Method’”. According to the Eisenhardt, the case selection is made depending on the expected added explanatory value of the cases regarding theory advancement. Investigations in the single-case study include the evaluation of a rich body of data, which I analyze using qualitative interpretative methods.
