In the present study, a mixed-method design was used to critically examine the extent to which the extracurricular civic education program developed as part of the dissertation project contributed to promoting political-democratic attitudes and beliefs among young people. In this process, for the first time, the effectiveness of an extracurricular democracy education format modeled after scientific student laboratories was empirically investigated.
