FKFS and IFS jointly operate a Handling Roadway System (HRW), on which realistic driving maneuvers can be conducted on a test bench in controlled conditions with a high repeatability. Apart from “classic” driving dynamics testing, the test system offers possibilities to research enhanced and specialized fields of interest. After briefly presenting the Handling Roadway in general and the possibilities to virtually alter vehicle properties, several advanced use cases of the HRW are presented and the introduction of the proposed methods in the vehicle development process is outlined.
