This research examines the ways in which anti-communist Twitter accounts in Greece utilize the Orthodox Christian faith so as to construct interpretative schemas that cultivate racism and homophobia, while tending to encourage the use of violence. By conducting a discourse analysis following SKAD research we qualitatively analysed anti-communist tweets promoting Orthodoxy. We focused on uncovering the symbolic ordering of subjects, the socio-historical meaning reproduced by the texts and the role of framing in bringing out specific aspects of meaning pertaining to religion used as a weapon of political discourse.
