The topic of this chapter became increasingly central through the interviews I conducted for this book. The more detailed my interviewees spoke about leadership, the more frequently questions came to the fore such as: When do people feel a sense of belonging? As part of a team, a company, an idea? Thus, the interviewee C.P. reported to me: “When people can’t contribute, the connection to the company is missing.”
