Populism and the Politics of Polities
摘要
The four most decisive mechanisms in today’s Western democracy are 1) material resources, 2) control of mass-media (often closely linked to the control of material resources) and 3) the ability to perform in an autocratic way and develop some charisma—the latter often not much else than the ability to interpret the inability of the opponents in patterns of supposedly better own performance and finally with this 4) the formation of an apparent identity of one’s own interests with those of the voters.
