Network research is one of the most important empirical and theoretical directions in the social sciences and parts of the humanities as well. The special thing about it is that, unlike so many other cases, it is not the individual who is at the center, but rather the relationships between people. The relationships between people are not yet enough, we are interested in the structure of these relationships. This involves numerous assumptions, the most important of which I want to name in this booklet. The text is intended to present the basic ideas and in this way help to orient oneself in this field.
