Motivation and Nature Immersion—Nature Immersion and Motivation
摘要
This article describes the mutual dependence between motivation and nature immersion. Nature immersion is understood as an essential first step towards educational nature experience. An overarching perspective on motivation is based on the theoretical framework of the self-determination theory of motivation. The article first outlines how nature immersion can emerge, presenting possibilities for its development from various subjective viewpoints. Subsequently, the reverse perspective is addressed, namely how nature immersion can affect basic motivational prerequisites (psychological basic needs: autonomy, competence, and relatedness) and the extent to which nature immersion itself could exhibit characteristics of a basic human need.
