Nature Experience and Similar Terms—Definitions and Approaches
摘要
The article attempts to differentiate seven different (German) concepts in the context of nature experience: nature experience, nature immersion, nature contact, nature encounter, nature perception, nature sensation, and access to nature. It becomes clear that these terms are not always easy to define separately. In particular, the term nature experience is used very differently in the literature—in a narrower sense (with reflection on an experience) and in a broader sense as a generic term. It is suggested to narrow down the variety of terms to three, as these can sufficiently define the field: nature contacts, nature immersion, and nature experiences. Finally, further research-related approaches—such as attitudes and nature connectedness—are discussed and prominent pedagogical approaches in the field of nature contacts, nature immersion, and nature experiences are presented.
