This chapter begins by outlining the overarching theoretical frameworks of feminist technoscience and situated knowledge, which have informed and shaped the structure of this study. Subsequently, I briefly discuss the origins of computer science to demonstrate how it acquired its masculine gender identity, which remains pervasive to this date. I then introduce the domain of cryptocurrencies as part of the emerging blockchain technologies and address the cultural risks that can sometimes be overshadowed by its rapid development.
