In this chapter, I will outline the methodological approach I adopted for the research activities that are part of this dissertation. A more detailed description for each study can be found in the individual papers, but the overall framework, deriving from the Siegen tradition of Socio-informatics, including Grounded Design (GD) and Participatory Action Research (PAR) shall briefly be introduced here. In addition, I will give a brief overview of collaborative speculative design as it differs from the other research methodologies.
