Technology and pedagogy are usually thought of as opposites. The paper is reminiscent of a little-discussed alternative that John Dewey presented a century ago: It is not the individual that is the object of pedagogical activity, but the situations in which they are active and in which they develop and form. This opens up opportunities to consider and design pedagogy from a technical point of view. It is not the individuals that are technically designed, but the practices in which they produce themselves.
