The Dialogue in Gadamer’s Hermeneutics. Implications to Perceive, Experience, and Interpret in Chemistry Education
摘要
In this work, we identify possibilities of contributions to Chemistry Education from Hans-Georg Gadamer's Philosophical Hermeneutics of Dialogue. We begin with interpretations of the word Hermeneutics, we then briefly discuss the German philosopher Gadamer and his 1960s work Truth and Method. For Gadamer, it is through dialogue that understanding takes place, and for this reason, we seek to discuss the primacy of the question, that is, the importance of the question in Gadamer and the idea of “fusion of horizons”. From this we enter into authentic dialogue, understanding the dialogue as a hermeneutical experience, as an experience with the historical, aesthetic, and ethical tradition. Furthermore, we consider the pedagogical dialogue from a hermeneutical perspective, with implications for Chemistry Education.
