The contents of the humanities derive from what political power and society consider the legitimate culture that has to be transmitted as authentic and universal, imposing it on dominated groups or classes (Bourdieu& Passeron 1990). This chapter addresses the interviewees’ experiences regarding the selection of humanities’ contents and social reproduction in the classrooms, looking at how pupils have perceived it, how it has influenced their identity formation and their awareness of this influence, and their reaction to the difference between the legitimate culture and their own. The presentation of the results follows the educational path and the importance of each subject.
