Social Coherence and Cohesion as Goal Concepts of “Socially Sustainable” Quarter and Urban Development

After the first chapter dealt with how socioeconomic and sociocultural diversity unfold in urban space, and what consequences can be derived from this for social life in cities, I deal with urban processes of community formation in the second chapter. Under what conditions do people feel the impulse to relate more to each other, to perceive each other, to understand each other, and to do things together? And what leads to the emergence of connectedness from collective action, or even social security and social cohesion?
