Looking at the historical developments of urban planning in Germany, Europe, and worldwide, one might conclude to either not venture a future outlook at all or only very cautiously. Taking into account the current immigration movements and their sociopolitical pressure at the beginning of the first two decades of the 2000s, and considering, for example, the living conditions of immigrants from Afghanistan, Syria, African countries south of the Sahara such as Nigeria, or Indian metropolises, one could easily conclude that our cities in Western and Central Europe could develop along parallel corridors of lifestyles and living conditions. In one corridor, this would essentially be a continuation of previous approaches to socio-economically and socio-culturally mixed cities within a clearly defined canon of building law and urban planning regulations.
