Urban Ecological Perspectives on Social Cohesion
摘要
One might wonder what urban ecology has to do with social cohesion. Depending on how one defines urban ecology, surprisingly a lot. Here, I do not want to use the term urban ecology in the sense of biological habitats, i.e., biotope types in the city, but rather in a broader sense as an urban ecosystem with its material and energy flows, anthropogenic influencing factors such as residential settlements and traffic flows, but above all its interpersonal relationships.
