In the following I give a short summary of the dissertation (8.1) and I synthesize the main findings with regards to the research questions (8.2). Thereafter, I summarize the thesis’ key contributions to the three respective fields of community energy research, energy transitions and social sciences and political science (8.3.). The scope and limitations of this dissertation will be discussed in sect. 8.4, reflecting strengths and limitations.
