This chapter compares the institutionalization of community energy in EU and German energy politics and policy. The purpose of the comparison is to identify and validate factors and mechanisms that conditioned the pathways of CE institutionalization. Both cases are first compared on their outcome dimension to qualify the institutionalization of CE in energy policy and politics. How do German and EU Community Energy policy frameworks compare (6.1)? Second, I asses the varying influence of CE organizations and ideas on EU and German renewable energy policy (6.2).
