Immigrant Political Incorporation through Political Opportunity Structures
摘要
Many studies explain political transnationalism through political incorporation (Koopmans 2004; Landau 2010; Waldinger 2015; Roth 2018). These studies suggest that migrants’ political attachment to their countries of origin is persisted, or strengthened, unless there are efforts from the political actors of the receiving country to incorporate migrants into the politics of the receiving country. For immigrant political incorporation, political opportunity structures are crucial in the sense that the receiving country politics provides people with a migration background with a political platform to voice their interests.
