Typology Formation Through the Analysis of Habitus Forms
摘要
This chapter is about organizing the interviews according to the question: ‘What function do sports activities/fitness training have in the biography of the respondents, taking into account education, class, and body?’ and above all to examine to what extent their actions produce a surplus of meanings (Hoffarth 2018, p. 7). The aim is not only to analyze the external and self-guidance in the sense of Foucault’s governmentality, in which only a measured and healthy body seems to open up opportunities for sovereign self-formation. Rather, it is about considering the body as a place of self-will, contradiction, and not just as an object of conditioning and discipline.
