The development of a questionnaire in cross-cultural studies follows the same rules and guidelines that apply to monocultural studies (Diekmann 2018; Schnell et al. 2018; de Jong et al. 2019). These will not be repeated here. However, additional requirements arise that relate to the goal of equivalence of the measurement instruments. Here, various aspects must be considered or empirically tested to ensure the highest possible level of equivalence.
