This chapter presents the mathematical description of electrical quantities, the state-space modelling of electrical systems and the analysis of system properties. After a fundamental classification of types of description of electrical quantities, phasors and space vectors are presented in Sect. 3.1. Furthermore, a general representation of a three-phase four-wire system is given.
