摘要

In 2016, Cheng[155] disclosed an unexpected carboacylation (Scheme 3.1), resulting from the reaction of various benzamide derivatives 11 with an 8-AQ directing group and 7-oxabenzonorbornadiene derivatives 33 (as well as norbornene, norbornadiene, and benzonorbornadienes). The catalyst’s mode of operation was proposed to rely on the oxidation state + III, obtained by the initial oxidation of the precatalyst via the external oxidant Ag2CO3. After benzamide coordination and C–H cobaltation, the bicyclic olefin inserts into the C–Co bond and furnishes the product 36 via sequential intramolecular nucleophilic addition, protodemetalation, and elimination of 8-AQ.
