The following case studies of two typical successful GCAs are intended to complement the secondary analysis of aggregate GCA preferences. The primary focus of the empirical analysis lies on material factors that shaped the preferences of the two selected GCA towards the BRI. Overall, BRI-related factors that impacted their profitability, such as additional revenues from participation in BRI-related business activities, are considered for this purpose.
