Conclusion

The concluding chapter synthesises the findings of the ecofeminist hegemony analysis applied to the climate policy identities of India and the EU, highlighting their masculinised nature, despite their significant differences. It contrasts the two case studies and in summary answers the research questions and sets the stage for broader reflections. The chapter also evaluates the theoretical and methodological approach, assessing the feasibility of combining poststructuralist hegemony analysis with ecofeminist approaches for future climate discourse studies. Additionally, the study will be situated within the broader fields of International Relations and feminist research, addressing the research gaps identified and suggesting directions for further research. Finally, the implications of the findings at both bilateral and global levels will be discussed, proposing a more inclusive and sustainable global climate policy to achieve ‘The Good Life for All’ by overcoming the centuries-old dichotomies deeply anchored in both the Indian and EU climate change policy discourses.
