This chapter examines success factors for implementing AI-driven marketing strategies in the DACH region. A literature review and an empirical survey identified 17 factors and analyzed their impact on marketing departments’ AI maturity. Key drivers include internal AI specialists, employee training, custom AI models, dedicated budgets, unified customer views, and seamless process integration. Some factors, previously considered beneficial, show non-linear or negative effects. The chapter offers practical insights into AI maturity levels and proposes a multi-step approach: assessing current maturity, analyzing processes, selecting suitable technologies, and prioritizing implementation.
